Dr. Annika Martin

I am a health psychologist.

Hi, I am Annika. I coach individuals to develop a healthier lifestyle, to work through crises and strengthen inner peace and well-being by the means of mindful living.

My Professional Background…

Developmental Psychology.

As the name suggests, developmental psychology focuses on the becoming of people, the very individual development of each person from birth to death. This idea of a unique, dynamic and continuous development of humans has fascinated me since the first lecture in psychology and brought me from the University Trier (GER) to the University of Zurich (CH) for the master's degree.

Health Psychology.

In order to maintain health and well-being, we need to draw on a variety of personal and social resources. During my PhD at UZH, I researched the effect which our close relationships have on healthy development across life. During this time, I focused on understanding what "health" actually means and how people can strengthen their health and well-being every day.

Logotherapy and Existential Analysis.

Logotherapy is a form of psychotherapy that goes back to the Viennese psychiatrist Viktor E. Frankl. As a therapeutic approach, logotherapy is solution- and resource-oriented, and aiming to guide and support indviduals on their way to a happy and meaningful life. Following on from my PhD, I trained with the Institute of Logotherapy (ILE) in Chur, Switzerland.

Body Work.

Since 2020, I am training at the Kientaler Hof to become a Tibetan Cranial Therapy Practitioner. Tibetan Cranial Therapy is a Buddhist healing tradition and helps reconnecting body and mind, restoring their balanced and dynamic and interplay. The practice stimulates deep and mindful relaxation, triggering the natural self-healing powers of body, mind and soul.

Mindful Body fuses mindfulness and psychological counseling.

The work of Mindful Body integrates my favourite learnings from Psychology, eastern and western Philosophy, and the world of Integrative Medicine and Bodywork. With Mindful Body, my professional training and personal interests come together in order to create a unique approach, counseling you towards building and sustaining a fulfilled life.

In my work, I love encountering the uniqueness of each and every person, allowing me to support others in dealing with and experiencing life. In case you feel that Mindful Body might be the right thing for you, please give me a quick call or book a session right away. I'd be very happy to meet you!
