Mindful Body offers online counseling for individuals who seek professional support in turbulent times or during inner strain. I am here for you - no matter where you are.
Life is demanding and not always easy. At some points during our journey, we might find ourselves in need of someone to listen and to help us find peace of mind. The approach of Mindful Body is infused with mindfulness-based practices, helping you to connect your mind with both body and soul, finding your strength within to cope with whatever troubles you right now…
Treat Your Whole Self
During your counseling, we will work on reconnecting your mind and body with your inner strength – no matter how far away this inner strength might feel from the place you are in now. In our busy and demanding world, both mind and body become stressed easily, troubled with fears and worries or simply out of tune with each other. However, the Philosophy of Mindful Body is based on the idea that there is more to you than just body and mind. As human beings, we are body, mind, and soul. Our soul, in contrast to our hasty mind, is a source of inner calm, strength and wisdom. You might give what I call “soul” a different name. Alternatives might be: your consciousness, your awareness, or the wiser part of your own intelligence. You name it. But more important than what you call that part of you is what it can do for you on your very own journey towards mental ease and balance.
Be On Your Way
Another fundamental belief of Mindful Body is that your health is a process, not something solid or given. However unwell you might feel in a moment – both physically, and mentally – you might want to be aware, that this is a momentary state you are in right now - in the dynamic flow of what we call life. It is never too late or impossible to change your way towards being and becoming more wholesome. I very much like th quote from Jon Kabat-Zinn who says “No matter how unwell you are and feel – as long as you breathe, there is more right with you than wrong”. In your work with Mindful Body, we will draw on this part of you that is already and ultimately healthy.
Move Towards Mindfulness
Mindful Body believes that mental and physical wellbeing is based on mindfulness. Mindfulness is defined as non-judgemental and moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. Being mindful is a capacity that each human being has and that each human being can improve upon. Being mindful calms your mind and allows you to connect with yourself at a deeper level. A mind that is calm is more open and willing to change its old routines into new ways, eventually allowing you to grow into the person you want to be or solve that very specific thing that bothers you right now. I think that basically all of our problems and difficulties can be altered by this shift in perspective and awareness. In that sense, the kind of counseling that Mindful Body offers is intended to be a bit like Yoga for your brain.
